Benefit of the Doubt

It’s something we all desire be given to us.

And yet, it’s something we so rarely give away.

And begins the virtuous cycle of life.  This tension between fairness and deserving.  Between human error and accountability.  Between intent and result.

We don’t often act out of malicious intent.  The opposite rather.

Our intent gets covered up and masked by the end result.  By the mistake.

But if we all are prone to error, and we generally approach things in the right spirit, don’t we all deserve a little more leeway?

Just a little more room to fall?

If mistakes happen, the variable revolves around how we process.  And how we react.

Judgement pushes us father apart.  Empathy softens the fall.

Do you practice what you preach?
