Be Present

Enjoy yourself – it’s the weekend.

But unlike most, avoid the temptation to numb.

Avoid the temptation to surf the web, binge on netflix, or play video games all weekend.

We never give ourselves a break anymore.  We are tethered 24/7.

And we don’t realize the constant state of anxiety we bring on ourselves.

Always searching for the next dopamine hit from our cell phone.

If we aren’t being stimulated by some sort of technology, we feel restless.  Our brain is reaching and searching for it.

Put away the tech.  Be present.

It’s beautiful outside.  Get out and connect.  Engage in conversation.

And be open to what may happen.

 

You might just be surprised with what you discover.
